Spanish illustrator born in Bilbao, Ana Lartitegui is a graduate in Educational Science and studies watercolour and drawing in José Luis Cano Peñarroya’s atelier. She has been illustrating children’s books since 1989 and has published books with some of the best publishing houses worldwide.
From the year 2000 to 2001, she was president of the Federación de Asociaciones de Ilustradores Profesionales (FADIP) and was also part of the managment and creative team of the Internet site librelula.com.
She has participated in several shows and exhibitions such as the A todo color children’s illustration show of the Spanish Ministry of Culture and the OEPLI in the year 2000. She also has participated in the virtual exhibition called Cien Años de Ilustración Infantil Española of the Cervantes Institute in the year 2004. In 2005, she took part in the exhibition Ilustrísimos, panorama of illustration for children and youngsters in Spain, organized by the International Book Fair of Bologna.
At the moment Ana Lartitegui is involved in the study and research of illustrated children´s books. She also designs the cultural proposals of the company Pantalia, for whom she has co-ordinated the following collective illustration exhibitions: Mira qué te cuento, ilustraciones de 30 artistas aragoneses (2004) y Adivina, adivinanza, 20 adivinanzas de cara y cruz (2006).
