Gabriela Keselman

Argentinian writer living between Spain and Argentina, Gabriela Keselman is one of the most important Spanish language children’s literature writer.gabrielakeselman1

She has been a redactor for several magazines such as the children’s Petete, Anteojito, and Ser Padres Hoy. She has been publishing a 30 stories in the following magazines: PinyPon (Salvat), Ser Padres Hoy (Spain and Argentina), Caracola (SM-Bayard Presse).

In 1996, Gabriela Keselman and Pep Montserrat have been the winners of the Premi Nacional de Catalunya (Catalan Generalitat Award) to the best picture book with El Regalo (The Gift) published by La Galera.

10 years later, they also won together one of the most important award of Spanish children’s literature: Premio al Mejor Album Ilustrado (Award to the Best Children’s Picture Book), Fundación Santa María, 2006, for ¡Él empezó! (He started it!) issued in Spanish language by Ediciones SM in 2006.

Gabriela Keselman has also been the winner of the XXVI Destino infantil Prize for Children’s Picture Books, Ediciones Destino, 2006, for ¡Te lo he dicho 100 veces! (I told you a hundred times) Illustrated by Claudia Ranucci, issued in Catalan and Spanish languages by Ediciones Destino.

Several of her books have been translated to several languages and published in France, United States, Korea, Japan and Brazil…
