Born of a Catalan mother and a Costarican father, Mar Cole was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, where she spent the five first months of her live, before she crossed the Atlantic in her way to Spain.
Growing up in Barcelona, she discovered the pleasures of reading, while spending many hours at her grandfather’s library.
In her childhood, along with her family, she moved to Costa Rica where she discovered a world of exceptional beauty and amazing tropical landscapes. This experience has developped her special sensitivity towards nature and it has been the beginning of her personal compromise with enviromental issues.
Creating imaginary worlds filled of fantasy and adventure, Mar Cole lends a hand to her readers to escape from the everyday life.
Mar Cole has published the first part of a series of three fantasy adventure books, Los Girshas y la invisible isla de Alcira (The Girshas and the invicible Alcira Island) (Planeta Oxford). She has also published El tesoro de los Cátaros (The cathar treasure) (SM), a novel full of adventures, mystery and treasures and La última jungla (The last jungle) (Oxford) where she denounces the explotation of working children.
